Biografia di Marcantonio Lunardi

Marcantonio Lunardi (Lucca, 1968) vive e lavora a Bagni di Lucca (LU). Diplomato in regia documentaristica, dal 2001 Lunardi si è occupato di documentazione sociale e politica lavorando a installazioni, documentari e opere di videoarte. Dopo i master al Festival dei Popoli di Firenze, ha iniziato un percorso nel settore delle immagini in movimento, sperimentando linguaggi al confine tra il cinema del reale e la videoarte. Le sue opere sono state esposte in prestigiose istituzioni nazionali e internazionali come il National Art Center di Tokyo, la Fondazione Centro Studi Ragghianti di Lucca, il Video Tage Center di Hong Kong, il Museum on the Seam di Gerusalemme, il Videoart Yearbook del Dipartimento di Arti Visive dell’Università degli Studi di Bologna. Lunardi è stato ugualmente ospite di vari festival e manifestazioni internazionali di cinema sperimentale e videoarte a Bilbao, Shangai, Il Cairo, Milano e New York.

Marcantonio Lunardi’s biography

Marcantonio Lunardi (Lucca, 1968) lives and works in Bagni di Lucca (LU). He graduated in documentary direction, and since 2001 he has dealt with social and political documentation, working on installations, documentaries and video artworks. After the masters at the Festival dei Popoli in Florence, he began a journey in the field of moving images, experimenting with languages between cinema and video art. His works have been exhibited in prestigious national and international institutions such as the National Art Center in Tokyo, the Fondazione Centro Studi Ragghianti in Lucca, the Video Tage Center in Hong Kong, the Museum on the Seam in Jerusalem, the Videoart Yearbook of the Department of Visual Arts of the University of Bologna. Lunardi was also guest of various festivals and international events of experimental cinema and video art in Bilbao, Shanghai, Cairo, Milan and New York.

Who am I?

Graduated in documentary direction, since 2001 Lunardi has been involved in social and political documentation working on installations, documentaries and video art works.
After the masters at the Festival dei Popoli in Florence with Michael Glawogger, Sergei Dvortsevoy, Thomas Heise and Andrés Di Tella, he began a journey in the field of moving images, experimenting with languages on the border between real cinema and video art. His works have been exhibited in prestigious international institutions such as the National Art Center in Tokyo, Galeri Nasional Indonesia in Jakarta, the Centro Studi Ragghianti Foundation in Lucca, the Video Tage Center in Hong Kong, and the Museum on the Seam in Jerusalem. Lunardi was also a guest of various experimental film festivals and video art such as the Bilbao International Film Festival, the N Minutes Video Art Festival in Shanghai, the Cairo Video Festival in Cairo, the Invideo Festival in Milan, Video Art & Experimental Film Festival – Tribeca Cinemas of New York. In addition there are numerous biennials of contemporary art including the Biennial del Fin del Mundo in Chile and Argentina, the Chongqing International Biennial of Contemporary Art in China and the Bienal Internacional de Videoarte y Animación in Mexico.

He lives and works, by his choice, in the mountain village of Bagni di Lucca, 25 km from Lucca (Italy)
